Curt Newport, Owner, Instructor Trainer/Training Center Faculty

Curt Newport Curt Newport has trained, literally, thousands of people, ranging in rank and tenure from the newest manager to Senior Management and Executive Level Teambuildings.

He is an accomplished public speaker, routinely addressing groups of dozens, if not hundreds of participants. Curt is certified to deliver programs from Covey Leadership (Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and First Things First), as well as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, among others. He is also certified as an instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Additionally, Curt is currently appointed as BLS Training Center Faculty for the American Heart Association.

Curt has been training groups of all sizes since 1995. Curt has also been a Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) since 1998, responding to 911 calls in his community on a BLS or ALS Ambulance. He has also trained as a Reserve Firefighter, and has served as the Public Relations Officer and Logistics Officer for the Rescue Squad. He currently holds the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain, and leads a team of twelve EMTs and Paramedics at least one night every week for two different Rescue Squads.

Curt is an EMT Evaluator for the Virginia Office of EMS, as well as the Northern Virginia EMS Council.

Curt has also worked as a baseball umpire since 1992, and volleyball official since 2007, working varsity sports throughout Northern Virginia.

Curt and his wife, Leigh, live in Loudoun County, Virginia, with their two sons.

Jeff Jackson, Senior Instructor

Curt Newport Jeff Jackson is a hospitality service manager by trade, but has a passion for Emergency Medical Services. During the day he manages a crew of meeting technicians to provide exceptional conference services to a fortune 500 company located in McLean Virginia. At night, he spends his time volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Jeff has been an EMT in Loudoun County, Virginia, since 1998. During this time, he has spent time training new members in many areas of EMS. Jeff has also been an American Heart Association accredited BLS Instructor for Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad Rescue since 2008. He has trained squad members in CPR at all levels, from the new member to the seasoned Paramedic, and teaches dozens of other classes every year, with students ranging from preschool teachers to medical doctors.

Jeff is also an instructor for the American Safety and Health Institute, where he not only teaches CPR but also Basic First Aid, Child and Babysitting Safety, and Wilderness First Aid courses. He has taught for multiple companies and colleges and simply loves to teach CPR and first aid courses. This knowledge will save lives and Jeff loves to be a part of that process.

Elizabeth Coberly, Instructor

Elizabeth holds Instructor Certifications from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, National Swimming Pool Foundation, and many more, and has instructed CPR, First Aid and related courses for more than two decades. She currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor with George Mason University teaching "Program Planning and Design" for the School of Recreation Health and Tourism, and with Northern Virginia Community College teaching "Lifetime Fitness and Wellness". Elizabeth Coberly has been working in the aquatic industry for over 20 years. During that time, she has worked in nearly every type of aquatic position.She also holds positions with multiple local Parks & Recreation Departments as well as private companies in order to offer courses to the public.

Elizabeth holds a MEd in Recreation Administration from the University of Toledo where she served as a Graduate Assistant in Aquatics and she is a Certified Recreational Sports Specialist through the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association. Elizabeth leads our Aquatics offerings, in addition to teaching CPR, and Food Safety. Elizabeth is able to deliver our courses in English and in Spanish.

Tristan Williams, Instructor

Tristan has been involved with volunteer Fire and Rescue departments for nearly 13 years as both a BLS and an ALS provider. Tristan has been an American Heart Association BLS Instructor since 2002, and has instructed for hundreds of students both in and out of Fire and Rescue.

Currently, Tristan works as a Medical Assistant in Central Virginia, attending to patients on a regular basis, and teaches 3-4 classes a month.

Mike Flowers, Instructor

Mike is a former United Stated Navy Submariner, who is currently studying to become a Physicians Assistant (PA). Mike is a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Field Training Instructor for a Rescue Squad in Loudoun County, Virginia. Mike has been volunteering since 2010, and teaches new Firefighter and EMT students, as well as public classes.

Mike is an avid soccer player and fan, has traveled the world, and currently calls South Riding, Virginia, home.
