This offering combines our ASHI Basic First Aid
and CPR For Community and Workplace classes into one class. The
successful attendee will receive certification cards for both
classes.
Basic First Aid program participants learn to recognize the
signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial
information about how to deal with emergencies like bleeding, shock,
burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures
is shared. Basic First Aid covers treatment for both adults and
children.
CPR For Community and Workplace
teaches Adult, Child and Infant CPR, along with first aid for
Choking, and education around Heart Attack and Stroke. There is also
focus on prevention, and the Chain of Survival.
This course also teaches application
and use of Automatic External Defibrillators
(AEDs) in life threatening situations.
Basic First Aid and CPR is a 7.5 hour
course, designed to help in those minutes between
a medical emergency occuring and when Emergency Medical Services arrives. Successful
completion of this course will result in a
3 year First Aid certification card and a 2 year CPR
certification card being issued by the American Safety and Health
Institute (ASHI).
